Beijing, Oct 25 (Prensa Latina) China and
the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) are working on Thursday
on a project that will rely on the latest technology to strengthen
disaster response in countries linked to the Strip and the Route.
The parties will use means such as remote sensing via satellite, geographic information systems and the Beidou navigation system to guarantee better access to risk information, early warning networks and damage assessment after natural disasters.
On the Chinese side participate the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
According to Agi Veres, UNDP representative here, disaster resilience is a central part of sustainable development and therefore his agency is committed to supporting the progress efforts of China and the member nations of the Strip and Route project.
