Elon Musk calls Fortnite gamers ‘eternal virgins’ in latest Twitter spat

The billionaire boss of SpaceX and Tesla fired the opening salvo by tweeting out a doctored image supposedly showing a news story from the site MarketWatch.com. The picture showed the headline ‘Elon Musk buys Fortnite and deletes it’ backed up with the quote ‘I had to save these kids from eternal virginity – Elon Musk’. Seemingly not fussed about upsetting the 78.3 million Fortnite players out there, Musk retweeted the picture and added his own epitaph: ‘Had to (be) done ur welcome’.

Understandably, Musk’s snarky comment didn’t go unnoticed. Epic Games, the makers of Fortnite, shot back with a jab of their own.
The company posted a news story saying it would take SpaceX only a decade to build a human base on Mars.
‘A whole decade, .@elonmusk? Just build, LOL!’ Epic tweeted
Musk responded back, saying: ‘reality is hard’.
In Fortnite, players can build and repair structures in order to make defensive forts. And when one player got in touch to say yes, in fact they did lose their virginity after having played Fortnite, Musk had an answer for that too.

At the time of writing, it doesn’t look like any more shade has been thrown between the eccentric billionaire and the gigantic pop culture phenomenon. In fact, Elon Musk is known to actually be a fan of gaming. In a Reddit ask-me-anything thread, he revealed that he likes to play Overwatch and Bioshock. Despite running two multi-million dollar companies and having six kids, he still finds time for video games.
